the best way to keep gold jewelry clean without taking it to jeweler?
believe it or not…toothpaste…yup I use toothpaste and an old toothbrush..keeps it really shiny.
Clean a gold wedding band by dipping a toothbrush in water, then into a dollop of white toothpaste (regular paste, not gel). Scrub the entire surface of the ring, inside the band and out. Don’t use the same toothbrush for teeth and jewelry, though. Rinse with tap water and dry with a soft cloth.
Gold chains can be cleaned with the lemon ammonia solution as well. Use a toothbrush and brush the solution onto both sides of the chain on top of a soft cloth. Never sleep with a gold chain on, as this can cause tangles and even breakage.
