Use Toothpaste Clean Tiffany Necklace ?

when your tiffany necklace is looking a bit dull. how to do ?someone says scrubbing with an toothbrush and using toothpaste is a fast, easy way to clean up necklace .Another says “scrubbing with an toothbrush, this will leave small scratches on the tiffany necklace”.
which is right?I think use toothpaste safe for the tiffany necklace,especially Tiffany silver.I use some technique on my Tiffany silver and my tiffany still shine as new. First get a small ceramic bowl, line it with aluminuim foil,pour hot water in it and sprinkle some baking soda. Then drop your jewelry in and watch the tarnish spots fade away. Once cool, rinse with cold water and wipe dry with a cotton towel.
