why we wear a wedding ring on the fourth finger?

Did you know why we traditionally wear a wedding band on the fourth finger of the left hand? Some say it’s because this finger is the least likely to swell, but that’s not the reason (nor is it true). Before people knew how the circulatory system worked, it was believed that there was a vein in the finger that led directly to the heart. The vein was named vena amori (vein of love) and the custom dates back to 3rd century BC.
