My guess is that Gucci was being asked about the boots in 1995 amidst all the hoopla about “Anthology” and decided to be a little “contrary” and Gucci Shoes as a sort attitude against all the praise being heaped on them.

On Sunday, I went with a couple of friends to the NYC Young Designers’ Market. There I met Parsons Gucci design grad, Ms. Betty Green, and fell in love with her designs. Her clothing line, Nature vs Future, has classic lines with a futuristic twist. Not only do her clothes look fabulous on models, they also look really good on the average woman. I bought an olive green suit made of organic cotton. The thing’s machine washable, but I’m probably going to take it to the dry cleaners for fear of shrinkage.
