Lead crystal is made from glass that has been treated with lead oxide and hand or machine cut to make facets. Lead crystal, also called crystal.nglishman George Ravenscroft is credited with discovering lead crystal in 1676. Today, popular manufacturers of lead crystal include Waterford Crystal, Swarovski, Steuban Glass, Royal Leerdam, Mikasa, and Baccarat. Lead oxide added to the molten glass gives lead crystal a much higher index of refraction than normal glass, and consequently much greater "sparkle" by increasing specular reflection and the range of angles of total internal reflection.
Over time a film forms on the surface that makes the glass look slightly milky. The problem is that may be you haven’t yet found a good way to really clean it.Full lead crystal is "softer" than regular glass, and it will scratch, so it should be stored where it will not touch your other pieces of crystal or any dishes for that matter. Do not store glasses upside down-this may cause stress to the rim.Dust can act as an abrasive and can "scratch" the surface. Make sure you only clean with a mild detergent and use a lint free cloth for drying. For glasses with gold rims or an edge design, never soak in solutions containing ammonia. Stick to using a mild detergent only.

Jewelry has a long long history.Purchasing fashionble jewelry today is a popular thing.
Closely related to the human need for ornamentation was the use of jewelry as amulets endowed with magical powers. For a true understanding of the growth and history of the importance of jewelry and precious stones, one has to be aware of the indelible belief that precious stones could affect the fortunes of the wearer.
Jewelry in its most basic form has been used since the dawn of of man, in conjunction with his earliest use of clothing and tools. Until recently, researchers had believed that the ability to use symbolism did not develop until humans had migrated to the continent of Europe some 35,000 to 40,000 years ago.
Jewelry was made with certain convictions in mind, to meld into, conform to and strengthen beliefs. This was particularly true when religions began to form an important sociological bond.
Jewelry was made of leather or reeds strung with pebbles, berries, feathers, shells, or animal bones. People wore jewelry for religious reasons. Certain jewelry could prevent sickness and protect them from bad luck. People started to make jewelry from ivory, wood, and metal. People also used silver, copper, and bronze. In 3500 B.C., gold heated with fire could be pounded into thin sheets and then shaped. By the 2000’s B.C., Egyptians used gemstones for making bracelets, brooches, headdresses, pendents, and rings.
Remember that today’s Fashion can be Tomorrow’s Heirloom,Jewelry too.

Do you konw how to care your favourite Pearl jewelry? Here there are some tips which may be help you.
Pearls are organic gemstones that are vulnerable to acid, alkaline and different humidity levels.
Pearl jewelry should always be stored flat to prevent the string/strand from stretching, especially pearl strands that are strung on silk. Pearls are very delicate and need to be stored separate from other jewelry to prevent them from chipping and scratching. Freshwater pearls are sensitive to extreme humidity or dryness, and acids. Perfume and hairspray, which contain alcohol and harmful acids, should be avoided on the areas where pearls are worn.
Most jewelry cleaners are too harsh for freshwater pearls. Wash pearls in very mild, soapy water and nothing else, but take care to avoid getting any water into the drilled holes, as it can cause the pearls to discolor. To keep them clean, they should be wiped with a dry, lint-free cloth before being stored. To dry, lay them flat on a soft, absorbent towel.
Even though pearls are exceptionally cohesive and shock-resistant, they rank only 3.5 to 4.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, so they may be scratch by contact with sharp objects or other gemstones.

There is nothing happier than a baby. Nothing more special. Nothing more fragile. They won’t be little for very long. Make sure you have a special keepsake to remember just how little they really were. Babybrags are the perfect keepsake or christening gift. Something they will truly cherish. Lilbrags are great for little girls who want to be “just like mommy.”
May be you will like to give a bracelet to your baby.First,To get a more accurate fit, measure your child’s wrist with a tape measure and it should lightly wrap around the wrist with no gaps. Then add a 1/2 inch to that measurement to get a baby bracelet size. For a toddler or child size, add either a 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch depending upon how loose you would like the bracelet to fit.

Gold body jewelry and gold belly button rings are increasingly popular accessories. These accessories are particularly desirable in gold, as gold symbolizes abundance and prosperity. But before you purchase any body jewelry, make sure you know how to choose and what to look for.
Without question, 18 karat gold is the best choice. With any lesser karat contentMany people still even purchase cheap plated gold body jewelry which can be found at just about any mall and in stores like Spencers. Plated Jewelry can cause major infections due to the plating wearing off and the high nickel content in the Jewelry. Some people feel that the true solid gold body jewelry should be stamped 14k or 18k gold. However having this stamp does not mean a whole lot anymore since first of all, anyone can purchase the hammer stamps and put it on plated crap, and secondly having your body jewelry stamped just makes for a great place for bacteria to breed causing an infection. Usually this will only be done by the overseas companies and then it is very questionable what you are getting anymore based on the daily news. Body jewelry should be smooth without any places for bacteria to breed and hide. You should never wear Jewelry with nicks in it for that same reason.
